The Area Air Traffic Controller candidates will from now on undergo full training in Croatia, since Croatia Control Ltd had been certified by the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency.

“The future air traffic controllers will not have to be trained abroad anymore, which will lead to savings on costs. The more significant fact is that now we are able to provide training for this demanding and responsible profession for Croatian candidates, and will be able to do the same for the foreign candidates in the future”, said Vlado Bagarić, Director General of Croatia Control. He stressed that this was the result of intense activities carried out by the Training Organization experts as well as other CCL employees who had contributed to the realization of this strategic goal of the company.

On June 15, 2020 CCL started with the in-house training of ATCO candidates after having obtained the privilege for the provision of basic training. It was followed by the privilege for the provision of ACS Rating Training Course issued on September 4, 2020, thus certifying CCL for the ATCO initial training.

From among 20 candidates selected in the selection process, 16 of them are to be trained for Zagreb Area Control Center and 4 candidates for tower air traffic control.

There is only one element missing for having a comprehensive in-house initial training of the first generation of candidates – the approval for Aerodrome Control Instrument Rating for Tower – ADI (TWR). Our experts continue working on preparation activities aimed at this certification.
