VCS-IP – Upgrade of Voice Communication Systems to Support ATM VoIP communications

The project is a part of the common application “SESAR Deployment Programme implementation 2016 – Cluster 2: Cohesion” coordinated by the SESAR Deployment Manager.

In the course of this project, all of the CCL's main, backup and simulator VCSs will be upgraded to allow IP-based connectivity in the G/G and A/G voice communication domain. Voice Communication Systems procured in the period 2012 to 2014 will be upgraded to VoIP by changing the system software release, followed by the replacement of the monitoring and control subsystem and the integration of additional VoIP hardware. The Zagreb ACC Back Voice Communication System (BVCS) is an older generation system which can only be extended by an additional media gateway (MGW) to mediate between the legacy type of BVCS interfaces and an IP network.

Upgraded systems will provide telephone connectivity with VoIP compliant VCSs and an easy integration of all IP-based VHF/UHF radios needed for the management of a dynamic airspace configuration.

The project is expected to be completed by December 31, 2020.
