Met Web Portal Redesigned

October 6, 2016

With the aim of continual service improvement, the contents of the met.crocontrol.hr web portal have been redesigned to enable easier data access, the mobile and Croatian versions have been introduced, and the desktop version design has been changed to match the corporate website layout.

A data traffic analysis showed that a significant part of the registered users visits the portal through their mobile devices, so special emphasis was placed on the usability of the mobile version.

The contents have also been reorganized in the redesign process, so they now include the following items:

  • OPMET – visible to all, while the neighboring states’ OPMET is accessible to registered users only,
  • Warnings – visible to all, while the neighboring states’ warnings are accessible to registered users only,
  • Charts – those issued by CCL are visible to all, while the WAFC charts are visible to registered users only,
  • Satellite and Radar – visible to registered users only,
  • Additional MET Products – visible to registered users only,
  • Climatology – visible to all.

Even at first glance an unregistered user can see whether a warning (SIGMET, AIRMET, aerodrome warning, wind shear warning) has been issued for the Zagreb FIR, since the ‘Warnings’ tab becomes red when a warning is issued. If one clicks on the tab, the ‘Warnings’ page opens, where one can directly see which warning has been issued, since the respective tab also becomes red.

We hope that the redesigned portal will be useful and easily accessible to all, especially to our registered users.
