Air Traffic Controllers Handle Record Number of Aircraft in July

67,537 flights were performed in July 2016 in the airspace under the responsibility of Croatia Control Ltd, which is an increase of 5.2% compared to the same month last year, and also the record number of operations achieved in a month.
 
Overflights make most of air traffic (84%), while landings and take-offs (15%), and internal traffic in the Republic of Croatia (slightly under 2%) cover the rest of the traffic figures.

The Saturday on July 30, 2016 was the busiest day with 2,552 operations in a day with 1,950 overflights, while take-offs and landings comprise the rest of operations. Air traffic control services were also provided to military aircraft and for VFR traffic (mostly sport aircraft and seaplanes).
 
Traffic at the Croatian airports increased in the first 7 months by more than 6% compared to the same period last year. In July 2016 more than 15,000 IFR operations were performed (14% more compared to the same month last year), with Split Airport being the busiest (30% of the total airport traffic), Zagreb International Airport following as the second-busiest with 25%, and Dubrovnik Airport as the third-busiest with 21% of the total airport traffic.
