Delegation of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service visited CCL

November 17, 2015

Representatives of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) visited CCL today. After the meeting where the promotion of cooperation was the main topic, they visited the simulator training facility and the Area Control Centre.

Director Dragan Bilać familiarised them with CCL’s organisational structure and operations, highlighting the service of reporting competent organisations on the aircraft in distress and aiding them during the search and rescue process.

Members of the delegation were: Mr Vinko Prizmić, who presented the organisational structure and operations of the Croatian Rescue Service, Frane Bebić, who presented a search procedure in terrain, Mladen Mužinić, Grgo Puljas and Stipe Božić.

Special emphasis was put on the coordinated access, use of mutual resources and potentials in search of missing aircraft, enhancing communications, mediation at establishing connections in the field, providing MET data to HGSS, common approach to and exchange of geodata, since HGSS also designs maps, particularly of difficult and mountainous terrains.

That was HGSS’ second visit to CCL, and it was agreed that the cooperation would be lowered to the levels of regional ATC centres and HGSS stations, in view of the signed Agreement on Long-Term Cooperation in the field of safety, development of potentials and activities in search of missing aircraft.
