ACC Area Control Service (ACC) is provided to controlled flights in a Control Area (CTA) which is, for that purpose, further divided horizontally and vertically into a number of sectors. 

During the peak load periods, the area control centre controls in its area of responsibility up to 170 IFR GAT flights per hour, with the largest number of parellel opened sectors. Using radar pictures, the executive controller and planning controller can control around 40 aircraft in their sector within an hour. All aircraft subject to separation shall be separated at least 5 NM (9.26 km) laterally and 1000 ft (300 m) vertically. Area control service is provided by Zagreb Area Control Centre (Zagreb ACC).
