COOPANS Alliance Board Meeting Held in Šibenik

Croatia Control (CCL) hosted a COOPANS Alliance Board meeting which was held in Šibenik on September 20 and 21, 2016. COOPANS is a partnership between the air navigation service providers of Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Austria and Croatia.At the meeting in Šibenik, the directors discussed further cooperation strategies and common EU activities.
 
The COOPANS Alliance, a leading example of industrial partnership in Europe and cooperation between five air navigation service providers, with CCL as one of the Members, was awarded the Single European Sky Award 2016 on March, 18 at the World ATM Congress in Madrid by the European Commission.
 
COOPANS Members have a harmonized technical ATM system, which is upgraded in line with technological development up to twice a year, thus contributing to a significant cost reduction. In cooperation with Thales, the chosen industry supplier, the COOPANS Members have implemented identical software in 7 area control centers (Zagreb, Vienna, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Malmö, Dublin and Shannon).
 
COOPANS’ another advantage for airlines lies in the saving of costs and the overall compliance with the implementation rules and international standards, thus guaranteeing safety, cost-efficiency and ecologically acceptable air traffic management.
