Techical Division |
Highly qualified and motivated engineers and technicians in the Technical Division have continuously been engaged in the maintenance and upgrading of the existing systems and equipment, as well as in the design of new systems.

In 2005 they enabled the installation and commissioning of a completely new Area Control Centre (ACC) in record time, with state-of-the-art systems ensuring safe flights. The scope of work completed is best substantiated by the fact that transition to the new systems was conducted on the principle of ''turning the switch'', and in a way that air traffic safety was not jeopardised any moment.
In view of fast technological development and the Eurocontrol plans for the enhancement of navigation and communication systems in Europe, the Technical Division will take up the challenge of introducing a number of new technologies and systems in the forthcoming period that are crucial for the increase of safety and partial automation of air traffic control.
In addition to the development and design of new systems, the Division is also responsible for maintenance of the existing air traffic control systems which include: ATM Data Processing Systems (CroATMS), Network Communications, Communication Systems, Navigation and Meteorological Systems and Air Traffic Surveillance Systems. |
